About Us

The Locomotora21 socio-cultural association is a thought and speech open space with special awareness for those who have gone, or are going, through mental suffering due to a diagnosed or undiagnosed pathology.

We also feel identified with those who want to attend a group that sees their uniqueness and experience as strength and wisdom.

We are committed to activism, associationism, people, care in generously and kindly shared networks.

We started our journey in 2016, and we have been advancing little by little. Evolving organically and with what the different people who have been among us have given us. In itself, we are a small compilation of all those who have passed through the association and have enriched us and made us grow with their conversations, thoughts, virtues, and famous expressions and phrases.

During these years, we have made different proposals, which are still in force, though not regularly:

We like to interact and reflect with art, artistic paintings or photographs. With them and the help of an art historian, we travel between the emotions of the different artists who have contributed to society works of art loaded with a political stance, social criticism and messages that deserve to be re-found, discovered and shared among us.

We open spaces for expression, dissemination, and promotion for those in the association who wish to share their creations of art, paintings, photographs, books, or works based on life experience.

We take walks to talk about the environment surrounding us, the neighbourhoods, nature or the historical and cultural heritage of the region. To get to know each other and get to know or discover places that we had always had within reach, but we had not paid them the attention they deserved.

You can currently find us on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Retiro de Sitges, a meeting point, an open space of thought and word where we weave different projects to contribute our vision to the region. There is no fixed schedule; there are no obligations.

In these meetings, which act as a project construction laboratory, we also collectively write opinion articles for collaborations in different media. All together.
